  • What is Air Conditioning?

    Air Conditioning is a process of cooling the air in an environment using a closed systems containing refrigerant gas. To do this the system requires an indoor unit (fan coil) connected to an outdoor unit (condenser).

  • Does the internal A/C unit have to be on the wall?

    No. We can position an A/C unit on the wall at high level, on the wall at low level, discreetly flush with ceiling/ceiling tiles. How we position the A/C system depends on the most effective cooling location, the nearest access to electrical supply and the easiest route to run pipework for external condensing units.

  • Does the A/C system only provide cooling?

    No. If you choose an inverter heat pump system, we can provide a cost effective solution to both cooling and heating. In the summer months the air conditioning system will provide cooling. In the winter, you can then use the reverse cycle to provide heating. These unit often have a drying dehumidification function also.

  • How often does my air con need servicing?

    Yes. If you have an A/C system installed by us, the manufactures and extended warranties will likely to subject to a regular service (usually every 12 months). An air conditioning service includes filter clean, coil clean, external surface clean, refrigerant level check and function check. If you use your A/C very often, we suggest a 6 monthly service to maintain the efficiency and life span of the system.

  • Do you offer any warranty?

    Yes. All new systems come with a standard 1 year manufactures warranty. You can add an extended warranty at an additional cost. Some of our systems include 3 or 5 year parts free of charge (as long as regular 12 month service with ACH4U is carried out).

  • My air con does not work or blows warm?

    If your A/C system stops working, shows signs of water leaking or blows warm then please DO NOT USE the A/C system. If safe to do so, switch the unit off using the remote or app and call us on 07538 882244.

  • Why is my air con leaking?

    Quite often when A/C systems are overworked in the summer months, they can build up with ice which may present as water leaking. If safe to do so, please switch off the unit using the remote or app and contact us immediately on 07538 882244.

  • Can I control air con by Wi-Fi an app?

    Yes. Some of our smart A/C systems provided by Midea and Samsung use a specialist Wi-Fi dongle to connect to an approved app. You must have existing Wi-Fi and reliable internet connection installed at the property and have a smartphone or smart tablet that is able to download one of our climate control apps. Please let us know if you require a smart A/C system when asking for a quote.

  • Do you install air source heat pumps?

    No. We do not currently install air source heat pumps however this is something we are working on to deliver very soon.

  • What does BTU mean?

    British Thermal Unit is a measurement of cooling or heating capacity. You may see something like 5,000 BTU or 12,000 BTU which is the cooling or heating requirement based on specialist calculations determined from room size and other factors.

  • What does 2.5Kw/3.5Kw cooling mean?

    Once we know the BTU cooling or heating capacity needed, we can convert this to work out how many Kw of cooling or heating you will need to improve the climate of the area most effectively. Our air conditioning systems range from 2.5Kw cooling for individual wall mounted systems up to 10Kw for larger areas.

  • How quick can you install?

    This is all depending on how busy we are at the time of quote/site survey and if there are any other delays or factors. Our usual lead time is around 4 - 8 weeks for local installation.

  • Do I need to pay upfront?

    We kindly ask for a 50% up front deposit payable by cash, PayPal or bank transfer. Once the work is completed and you are happy, we then offer a 30 day period to pay the remaining balance.

    For healthcare, education and council departments, we ask for 75% up front deposit payable by BACS before the work can commence.

  • Do you charge for site survey or call out?

    Yes - if more than 20 mile radius from DY6. £30 per visit payable by invoice within 30 days.

    No - If within 20 mile radius to DY6.

  • How do I contact you?

  • How do I heat a marquee?

    We use specialist marquee indirect heaters such as EC40, EC55, EC85 or Jumbo Indirect for Film & TV sets or large corporate long term hire marquee structures.

  • How do I dry my house?

    Floods and damp can cause serious problems for buildings and general health. We offer hire and sale of turbo dryers and large industrial dehumidifiers. For safety, it is recommended you use a 110v inverter whilst using this equipment.

  • Do you install & repair refrigeration?

    Yes. Our engineers are REFCOM and F-Gas certified meaning that we can also install, repair and replace refrigeration units.
